Eric Geoffrion
President and CEO
Eric Geoffrion, President and CEO, brings to IRphotonics more than 20 years of experience in the optical industry.Prior to joining IRphotonics, Eric was CEO and co-founder of ITF Technologies, a Montreal-based manufacturer of fiber optic components founded in 1998. Through Mr. Geoffrion’s leadership, the company grew from 3 to 500 employees in a 4-year period and was a world leading manufacturers of next generation fiber optic solutions. Before co-founding ITF, he held various positions at EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering, a manufacturer of fiber optic test instrumentation. Before leaving, he was International Sales Manager and Marketing Manager Outside Plant products. In 1995, the Financial Post rated EXFO as "One of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies". He received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique of the University of Montreal.
Dr. M. Saad
Chief Technology Officer & Founder
Dr. Saad has more than 20 years of experience in optical materials and fiber optics research. He holds a Ph.D. From Rennes University (where halide glasses were developed) in France, in Infra red optical materials and fibers. Formerly he held the position of senior researcher at Laboratoire des Matériaux Photoniques at Rennes University, France and was head of the infra red optical fiber program at Institut National d’Optique (INO). He has chaired many international conferences on infra red optical glasses and their applications. He is the inventor of a patented process for fluoride glass synthesis.
Juan-Felipe Gonzalez
Executive Vice President Sales
Juan Felipe Gonzalez has developed extensive sales and marketing expertise in the curing and test engineering industries covering the fibre-optic, electronics, automotive, communications infrastructure, and industrial markets during his career spanning more than two decades. As a true leader, Mr. Gonzalez brings with him unique global leadership skills as well as his wide experience in developing business relationships while living in North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia. His mastery of English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese is an important asset to the international scope of our business.
Prior to joining IRphotonics, Mr. Gonzalez was Vice-President of Sales at Averna Technologies. Before joining Averna Technologies, he founded and directed Hidalgo Sales Consulting. Previously, he was Vice-President, Global Telecom Sales for EXFO. Mr. González spent 15 years at EXFO, during which he was responsible for managing telecom sales, both direct and indirect, and the execution of sales strategies worldwide. As a member of the Strategy and Management Committees, he also collaborated to the development of the company’s corporate strategy.
Born and raised in Spain Mr. Gonzalez received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University Complutense of Madrid and a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Spanish Ministry of Industry’s Business School of Madrid.
Georges Kechichian
Vice President Engineering
With 20 years of experience in research and development, Georges brings a proven management track record in both small and large organizations.
Prior to joining IR Photonics, Georges cofounded Aethera Networks where he served as VP of Engineering and CTO and contributed as an observer member on the corporation’s board of directors. Aethera put an innovative access product on the market that was deployed in several operators’ networks.
Before Aethera he was director of engineering at Positron (now IPC) and was also in charge of program management for the VoIP emergency call-taking platform. For over 7 years at Tellabs, he held several technical and R&D management positions where he helped deliver 3 major optical networking products with the latest being the Tellabs 7100. Earlier in his career, Georges held several technical positions at startup CML Technologies as well as at CAE Electronics.
Georges holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Electrical Engineering from Laval University in Quebec City, Canada. He has also attended Ottawa University’s MBA program.
