IRphotonics Announces 100 um High Power Fiber Targeting Medical and Industrial Applications

new small core mid-ir fiber enables high power handling over smaller bend radius

Hamden, Connecticut, January 19, 2010 – IRphotonics (www.irphotonics.com), a leading provider of advanced infrared fiber and materials announced today the availability of its new small core High Power Multimode mid infrared fiber (H100) targeting Medical, Industrial and R&D applications. The H100 mid-IR fiber offers a spectral transmission from 0.3 to 4.5 um with low attenuation and no spectral absorption peak.

IRphotonics’ H100 small core enables high power handling over small bend radius from a wide range of lasers such as Er:Yag (2.94um), Semiconductor Lasers (QCL), Solid State Lasers or Tunable MWIR lasers (OPO).

IRphotonics’ Thermal Spot Curing System Reduces Epoxy Curing Time by Up to 10x

PRODUCT EVALUATIONS OF ICURE™ SYSTEM BY LEADING MEDICAL MANUFACTURERS SHOW A MAJOR DECREASE IN CURING TIME OF EPO-TEK® H20E AND 353ND

Hamden, Connecticut, September 14, 2009 – IRphotonics, a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of Infrared-based materials and systems announces ground-breaking results of independent product evaluations by leading medical device manufacturers for its iCure™ Infrared spot curing system.

One product evaluation performed by a medical device manufacturer, using electrically conductive adhesive, H20E from Epoxy Technology, Inc. was conducted in order to reduce the curing time of their medical device assembly. The adhesive manufacturer’s recommended cure schedule of 120oC for 15 minutes in a thermal oven was dramatically reduced to a 1 minute cure using the iCure AS200 thermal spot curing system.
