Montreal, Canada – April 2, 2007 – IRphotonics, a leading supplier of mid infrared materials, today announced it has successfully completed molding tests of its proprietary fluoride glass with optical industry leaders. The test results confirmed that IRphotonics’ UVIR™ amorphous glass can be easily molded into a variety of optical components that include aspherical lenses. IRphotonics’ UVIR™ glass exhibits a broad transmission window ranging from UV to 8 μm that makes it an ideal material for various defense and commercial applications that include thermal imaging and spectroscopy.
