JOB TITLE

Intermediate/Senior Optical Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the principal optical engineer working within a cross functional team, the candidate is actively involved in:

• System research, design, simulation, and development of free space optics and fiber solutions serving inside an infrared delivery system.
• Providing support to optical fiber production, characterization, as well as devising and implementing measurement methodologies, solutions, and procedures.
• Leading and maintaining several laser sources, measurement equipment and optical devices.
• Assisting technical marketing and applications engineering when it comes to technical proposals and custom design of optical components.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

• Bachelor degree in optical engineering or equivalent. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in product and prototype development. Experience in new product introduction is desirable.
• Knowledge of optical design and simulation software such as Zemax is desirable.
• Knowledge of various optical measurement techniques such as far field, refractive index profile, and fiber transmission measurements is desirable.
• Proven track record as an innovative and resourceful problem solver.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast paced, multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Bilingual is a plus.
